Pre-Action Fire Sprinkler Systems
Pre-action fire sprinkler systems are similar to dry sprinkler systems in that water is not actually contained in the pipes. However, the water is held back from the pipes by an electronically operated valve that is controlled by heat or smoke detection. Once the valves release and allow water into the system, the individual sprinkler heads must also be released to allow water to flow through. This helps protect the system from accidentally activating.
